Apple Pressing Taster at Growing Communities Launch
August 31 @ 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
We grow around 20 different varieties of heritage apples at FarmEco. These are all grown in our organic agroforestry fields, free from any nasty chemicals. Join in with a small group learning how to turn our apples into delicious juice using a traditional manual apple press. The varieties available will depend on what is ripe at the time, which depends on the weather.
What to Expect:
- Learn & Press: Help chop apples and operate the manual press (using manpower, not electricity!).
- Taste: The varieties we press will depend on what is ripe and the weather. Taste the end product—it’s so much better than shop-bought!
Important Details:
- Age Restrictions: Because the workshop involves chopping apples with sharp knives, the main activity is not suitable for children under 16.
- Bringing Children: Children can attend for free under parental supervision to join in the tasting part!
