DESCRIPTION:Our Lottery-funded project is bringing people together through nature\, sustainable growing and shared experiences.We’d love to welcome you to our launch event to experience: \n\n\n\n\n*the calming power of nature*friendly people and a welcoming community*delicious fruit\, grown in agroforestry fields*nature thriving on a farm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 10am with an opening event in the Labyrinth when we will present what we are hoping to achieve with the grant that we have received from the Lottery. We then have various stalls\, farm tours and taster sessions for you to see all that is happening around the farm. Some of these need to be booked in advance as there will be limits on numbers for various activities. Bring a picnic to eat in one of our beautiful spaces; chose from the labyrinth\, the woodland or one of the benches around the farm. \n\nThe Forest Bathing session will take place in the woodland\, which is about 12 minutes walk from the Car Park.\nWe will have guided tours of the farm\, showing you round the agroforestry fields\, the woodland\, the community garden\nThere will be sessions to try your hand at apple pressing\, to make delicious juice.\nWe will have a stall selling our organic\, seasonal produce; heritage apples\, tomatoes\, courgettes\, cucumbers and more.\nThe tree nursery will have locally grown saplings for sale at bargain prices.\n\nNote: Bookings for the different pre-bookable activities are listed as separate events on our main Events Page. \nMore details of other activities to follow….

DESCRIPTION:We grow around 20 different varieties of heritage apples at FarmEco. These are all grown in our organic agroforestry fields\, free from any nasty chemicals. As we start the apple-harvesting season\, join in with a small group learning how to turn our apples into delicious juice. The varieties available will depend on what is ripe at the time\, which depends on the weather. Taste the end product; so much better than shop bought\, and take a small bottle home with you. \n\n\n\nThe workshop will involve chopping up apples with sharp knives\, so not suitable for under 16 yrs. We will be using our small\, manual apple press which uses manpower rather than electricity to function.

SUMMARY:Agroforestry farm tour 11am
DESCRIPTION:Join one of our team on a walk around the farm. See the parts that are not normally open to the public including the agroforestry rows and the silvopasture woodland with its many different varieties of fruits and nuts. Learn about what is in season and what we will be harvesting through the autumn. Sample some fruit straight from the trees. The tour will also show you our community garden and the various fruit and vegetables that we are growing there using no-dig systems. \n\n\n\nThe farm is quite big\, so be prepared to be walking for around 40 minutes\, including some slopes up and down hill. The ground is uneven\, so not suitable for wheelchairs or prams. Children are welcome to come along for free.
