Join in with a small group learning how to turn our apples into delicious juice using a traditional manual apple press. The varieties available will depend on what is ripe at the time\, which depends on the weather.  \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect: \n\n\n\n\nLearn & Press: Help chop apples and operate the manual press (using manpower\, not electricity!).\n\n\n\nTaste: The varieties we press will depend on what is ripe and the weather. We’ll gather whatever fruit is ready to pick\, taking time to notice its colours\, textures\, scents and flavours before turning our harvest into something delicious to share — perhaps freshly pressed apple juice\, blackberry compote or whatever the farm has ready for us.\n \nAs we harvest\, we’ll gently explore the idea of “reaping what we sow”. What conditions help nature to flourish\, and what might we need to help ourselves flourish too? DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for our first Pick & Picnic event where we will pick some of the fresh organic produce that’s available at the farm. This session we hope to be picking plums and damsons. You can bring just yourself or the whole family. Supported by our team of volunteers we will show you all you need to know. You will leave with a share of the fruit you have picked and the remainder will be used to support our partners at local foodbanks\, businesses and good causes.  \n\n\n\nThe produce we pick on this day is on trees so smaller children may struggle to reach so please bear this in mind. They will however have plenty of space to run around and play whilst we pick.  \n\n\n\nAfterwards you are welcome to bring along a picnic and enjoy it in one of our many beautiful spaces including bonga tent\, community garden and green areas. DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for a full tour of our community farm with plenty of kids activities to keep you busy. This is also your chance to tell us what you would like to see and be involved in at FarmEco and to become a part of our community.\n\nWe will begin in the community garden where we will do some planting\, seed sowing and talk about that project.\n\nWe then move to the bonga tent and labyrinth to showcase that space and there will be a ‘food chain’ challenge for the children to find and complete.\n\nA steady walk down through our agroforestry area and into our edible woodland after that where we will show you around the hundreds of fruit trees we have on site whilst our sheep graze underneath them.\n\nAfterwards we will head to our woodland camp to have our lunch or snacks (please bring packed lunch & drinks with you) around our campfire space. There will be time here for the kids to have free-play\, build dens or play games before we head back up to the community garden together.\n\nPlease bring sensible footwear\, plenty of drinking water\, snacks or packed lunch.
