SUMMARY:Pick & Picnic
DESCRIPTION:Come and join us for our first Pick & Picnic event where we will pick some of the fresh organic produce that’s available at the farm. This session we hope to be picking plums and damsons. You can bring just yourself or the whole family. Supported by our team of volunteers we will show you all you need to know. You will leave with a share of the fruit you have picked and the remainder will be used to support our partners at local foodbanks\, businesses and good causes. \n\n\n\nThe produce we pick on this day is on trees so smaller children may struggle to reach so please bear this in mind. They will however have plenty of space to run around and play whilst we pick. \n\n\n\nAfterwards you are welcome to bring along a picnic and enjoy it in one of our many beautiful spaces including bonga tent\, community garden and green areas. There is an on site cafe and toilets near the entrance to the site at Cafe Velo Verde. \n\n\n\nMeet near the polytunnel at 10AM

DESCRIPTION:Our Lottery-funded project is bringing people together through nature\, sustainable growing and shared experiences.We’d love to welcome you to our launch event to experience: \n\n\n\n\n*the calming power of nature*friendly people and a welcoming community*delicious fruit\, grown in agroforestry fields*nature thriving on a farm\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDoors open at 10am with an opening event in the Labyrinth when we will present what we are hoping to achieve with the grant that we have received from the Lottery. We then have various stalls\, farm tours and taster sessions for you to see all that is happening around the farm. Some of these need to be booked in advance as there will be limits on numbers for various activities. DESCRIPTION:We grow around 20 different varieties of heritage apples at FarmEco. These are all grown in our organic agroforestry fields\, free from any nasty chemicals. Join in with a small group learning how to turn our apples into delicious juice using a traditional manual apple press. The varieties available will depend on what is ripe at the time\, which depends on the weather.  \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect: \n\n\n\n\nLearn & Press: Help chop apples and operate the manual press (using manpower\, not electricity!).\n\n\n\nTaste: The varieties we press will depend on what is ripe and the weather. Taste the end product—it’s so much better than shop-bought!\n\n\n\n\nImportant Details: \n\n\n\n\nAge Restrictions: Because the workshop involves chopping apples with sharp knives\, the main activity is not suitable for children under 16.\n\n\n\nBringing Children: Children can attend for free under parental supervision to join in the tasting part!
